Frequently Asked Questions

How can I best describe the ways you can help me and how do I know where to begin?
If you are curious about how I can assist you with an organizing session, I am happy to offer an in-home consultation; during this appointment, a complete assessment of your belongings, as well as a suggested solutions, will be provided. Next, we will schedule the first organizing session to address these "problem areas" and launch a plan to bring harmony back to your spaces and your lifestyle.
Harmony In Your Home also offers a "walk and talk" consultation for my staging or redesign clients which, typically, lasts 1 to 2 hours. This may be arranged by yourself or through your real estate agent. During this consult, I will recommend tasks that will enhance and bring out the best features in your home. These tasks can be completed by the homeowner or I am happy to take care of the details for you. After our initial walk-through, a written summary of our discussion will be provided to you, outlining the tasks to be completed. There is a fee for this type of consultation, as I will be giving you specific room-by-room details for changes that will be taking place. When tackling this checklist, you will be giving your home the edge over other properties for sale, thereby reducing the time on MLS and bringing you a better return on your investment in today's market.
What days/times are you available to book a session for any of your services?
My typical work schedule is Monday through Friday - 8 am to 4 pm. I have limited flexibility for clients with special circumstances, which can be determined during the initial consultation.
What time block should I expect to schedule and how many hours are enough to plan for my project?
The consultation is the best time to determine the approximate length of time needed to complete a project. Often times, however, additional tasks are added to the project and, therefore, will alter the length of time needed. For best results, organizing sessions are typically planned in 4 to 6 hour time frames. You may choose to schedule a half day or whole day, either once a week, once a month, or per diem. Depending on the recommendations, the length of time spent on a staging project will be discussed during the initial consultation.
The scope of a staging or redesign project will be determined at the "walk-and'talk" consultation.
Do I have to help with organizing and/or do I need to be home?
Each and every client's schedule is unique, and, therefore, I will work with you to determine the best possible time to assist you, whether you are home or not. I am happy to work with your help or without, keeping in mind that each situation is tailored to meet your specific goals - together we will discuss how those goals will be met.
Which geographic areas do you service and how far are you willing to travel?
Harmony In Your Home services the Wachusett area and surrounding towns. I am a North and South Worcester County and Metro-West Certified Staging Professional, Redesigner and Organizer. I typically handle most of my accounts within a 25 mile radius; however, under certain circumstances, I am willing to travel out of this locale.
I am concerned about security. How do you handle confidential records, files, etc. in my home or office?
The security of personal property and confidential records should be taken very seriously. It is my belief that all clients' identifications, personal property and records are to be held in strict confidence. I have many years of experience dealing with confidential records, and I will honor you and your family's privacy with the utmost respect; furthermore, I am proud to uphold a strict "judge-free" philosophy, and it is my pleasure to assist you with all of the services I offer.
What is the cost for a typical organizing or staging session?
No staging, redesign or organizing session is typical; each session is tailored to meet my client's individual needs and goals. Because my duties may range from one project to the next at each location, the cost for services is based on a per/hour rate for all tasks performed, whether home or office, indoors or outdoors.
Generally speaking, most staging projects equate to 1%-3% of the listing price for your home; however, the cost is based on several factors: the client's budget, the number of rooms being staged, would there be a need for any inventory rental, whether the home is occupied or vacant, how much work the client is willing to do themselves, etc. Remember, the cost for staging your home is far less than your first price reduction!
Are you insured?
Harmony In Your Home is licensed and insured up to $1M in coverage.
What is your payment schedule?
Payment is expected at the time the services are rendered, either by Venmo, check or cash. Staging projects require a contract, with a schedule of payments outlined at the time of signing.
Do you have a Cancellation Policy?
I respectfully request that any cancellations be made with a minimum of 24 hours. Opportunities to reschedule a visit can be arranged at that time or in the future. Sessions that are not cancelled within 24 hours are subject to a $50.00 fee.
Harmony In Your Home has a separate Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy for home staging and redesign projects which will be outlined at the signing of a contract.
